This August, I went to the Anish Kapoor exhibition at the Hayward Gallery in Southbank Centre. This was a very interesting exhibition discussing the human condition and religion. His work is primarily conceptual and installation based. Upon walking into the gallery you are greeted by very large scale pieces, often reflective to observe oneself. His work uses deep red tones to convey blood. symbolising the biblical tale of Abraham and Issac. This was a very interesting exhibition on religion based trauma and the deep calling towards the aspects of infinity. As in to look forward is to gaze into the mysterious unknown. I decided to visit this exhibition due to being a fan of Kapoor’s work beforehand and also I have never visited The Hayward Gallery. This exhibition was brought to us by the Southbank Centre and LISSON.
